Self-Adhesive Labeling Machine – Introduction

A self-adhesive labeling machine is a piece of packaging equipment that automatically applies self-adhesive labels (labels with pre-applied adhesive and a release liner) onto containers such as bottles, cans, and boxes. The machine peels the label from its liner, brings it into contact with the container surface, and applies pressure to complete the labeling process.

Working Principle:

A roll of self-adhesive labels is mounted on an unwinding shaft. As the label web passes over a peel plate (or peel blade), the difference in bending stiffness between the label and the liner causes the leading edge of the label to lift away from the liner. The peeled label is then brought into contact with the container surface by a labeling wheel or brush, while pressure is applied to adhere the label. The liner is rewound by a take-up shaft. For round containers, a rolling method is often used (the container rotates to wrap the label around it). For flat or curved surfaces, air-blow or brush methods are common.

• No separate gluing system required: Labels come with their own adhesive, eliminating the need for hot melt or cold glue systems.

• Flat-surface self-adhesive labeling machine: Suitable for boxes, cards, flat bottles, and other flat or nearly flat surfaces.

• Round bottle self-adhesive labeling machine: Uses a rolling method for applying labels around cylindrical containers (partial or full circumference).

• Side self-adhesive labeling machine: Suitable for single-sided, double-sided, or multi-sided labeling of flat or square bottles.

• Tabletop self-adhesive labeling machine: Smaller in size, suitable for laboratories, small-batch production, or manual-assisted operations.
